Sorry it's taken so long, but here are some pics of Gary's 40th birthday celebration. It was a fabulous time in Las Vegas. He's still talking about it. I can't seem to get a slide show going, but here's a link to some pics from our Vegas trip.

I only desire that which is for my highest good.

It's a good affirmation for today. I will only allow good and positive people in my life. Life is too short for sad and negative people. I'm not saying that it's not OK to have those emotions, not at all. I too have my sad and negative moments, but what I mean is that I don't want to live in it or with people who tend to be nothing but that. It's a choice to be happy. And that choice is regardless of your circumstances. Today I am happy because I choose to be, because I have a lot to be happy about. I'm grateful for the good things in my life. Life is good. New things and emotions and experiences are happening in my life. It's exciting and scary but ultimately, good. I'm a lucky girl...

The cold is still there but I've made it to work yesterday and today. I am really stuffed up, voice is sometimes leaving me, but the body aches have left me so that is good.

Mary if you are reading this I'm so sorry I wasn't able to see you this weekend, I was just so sick. I never made it out of my jammies, since last Friday. I'll call you soon and hopefully we can get together soon. Hope you had a good time and a safe trip home.

I'm knitting a pair of socks for my Special Someone...pics to follow.

I am worth loving. There is love all around me.

The trip to Las Vegas was wonderful! We had an absolutely fantastic time. I've been recovering ever since! And I seem to have caught an old-fashioned cold. Starting with a sore throat and sneezing, today my body is feeling run down and I'm sneezing, sore throat, maybe going to lose my voice and I have an ear ache. And I came into work today and my coworker called in and my bosses are out of town until next week so I'm alone today. Which is good in a way...

I haven't received my dishcloths yet but I'm anxiously anticipating them! Will they come from the US or Australia?...we shall see.

My Special Someone and me are doing very well! We're trying to figure out when and where we can meet next. But he touches my heart on a daily basis.

I'm trying to get pics together of our Vegas trip and I'll hopefully post soon.

Smashed Car, Dishcloths, Breast Cancer and Simple Pleasures...

Looky what we woke up to Sunday a.m. I live on a dead-end street and Mom woke me up saying that the police were out front. This car evidently was ripping around, maybe racing because we get that a lot around here, and realized it was a dead-end, whipped it around and ended up here. Both airbags deployed but they left the scene. The neighbor across the street noticed it when getting the morning paper. My brother said he heard our outside dog barking around 2 a.m. but none of us on the block heard it. It's amazing to me that we didn't hear it. Anyway, i'm sure the cops thought we were crazy cuz we were out there in our robes taking pics...for my brother, not that we're nosy neighbors. :)
These are the dishcloths that I made for the exchange, they will go in the mail tomorrow, on their way to Georgia. I haven't gotten to know anything about the recipient so I hope she likes them.
This is a colorgrown 100% organic cotton yarn and I knit it with a diamond seed stitch. The color of this remarkable yarn deepens as you wash it. I can't wait to make some for me.
This is a peaches and cream cotton yarn, knit up in a double seed stitch pattern, you know, k2, p2 and then mirror the next row meaning if you have a knit stitch, knit, pearl stitch, pearl and then alternate with p2, k2 and mirror. Easy and I like the pattern. It gives it texture.
This one is a slightly different colorgrown 100% organic cotton knit up in a doublestitch seed stitch. The pattern is hard to see on the pics.

Well I'll be dipped, I can't get the pics to upload. I found the cutest stuff to support Breast Cancer Awareness month at of all places...Ralph's grocery store. I got Mamacita this really cute pink sweatshirt and a really cozy fleece scarf and I couldn't resist, a can of pink Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup. Have you seen them? They are just adorable! Anyway, my Mamacita is a breast cancer survivor. She's been cancer free since 1992. It seems that almost everyone knows someone who has had cancer touch their life and it's tragic. So I ask you to be aware, support however you can and something I have to do better, do a monthly breath exam, it's important. Here is a link to the Susan G. Komen foundation. Great information, great organization. Someday as my health improves I'm going to be more active in breast cancer support walks and such.

As of today, Mom "might" go... Hopefully I'll know tomorrow. Anyway, the plans are pretty set. Thank you Ariel for the info you sent regarding the road closures. We lucked out, they cancelled the work for that weekend, we should be fine. I'm getting excited to get out of town!

Making plans to go to South Carolina! Nothing definite, but it's going to happen! I miss him so much.

My uniquely creative talents and abilities flow through me and are expressed in deeply satisfying ways.

Things are well here, busy week. Today we are short handed at work and so it's one of those days to eat at my desk and not really get a break. The cafe across the street makes excellent BBQ on Thursdays and so it was not a bad choice to stay in. He uses a real barrel BBQ and it has the best smokey flavor and a not too sweet BBQ sauce. The beans and the cole slaw are exceptionally sweet.

I've been dealing with some body aches and pains this week. It's kind of odd because my back is really doing well. I'm not having spasms and the general pain I've had for months on end. The only difference is I have a new computer table/work station that is more ergonomic and improved how I feel automatically and also I'm wearing a magnetic bracelet that is suppose to help with pain. But since Monday I have joint pain and body aches. You know that feeling when you have the flu? That's what it's like. Like I can't get comfortable, no matter what I do, and my bones hurt. I've been taking Ibuprofen and it maybe helps a little.

I'm going to start knitting some tonight, I miss it. I have to get my dish cloths in the mail and I have to get the square for Crazy Aunt Purl's grandmother done and in the mail. Then I have to start working again on McKenzie's sweater. I so want to start another project, I've got that itch but I'm going to try and resist the urge. Part of the reason I want to start another project is because I received a lot of ebay yarn from Tori and it's gorgeous! But I have to find the right project for that yarn.

Less than 2 weeks before we go to Las Vegas! I cannot wait. Mom is still not going at this point and she's trying to give me a lot of reasons why it won't be good for us to go, but we're still going. The last one was that someone told her that October (the whole month) is not a good month to go becase the are doing road construction. Come on.... I called and checked on it and yes, they are doing road work but it's not that big a deal and they read in the newspaper that a lot of the construction is being delayed, so that weekend is not a problem. Another excuse...his wheelchair isn't working properly... he can't sit that long in a car (how it's different to sit in our van or in his room? don't get that)... am i sure they are really set-up for a wheelchair...it goes on and on, but i've thought of all of this and right now...we are going.

It began with flowers...

The weekend began before I picked him up at the airport with a delivery of flowers. I was quite annoyed that someone was knocking at the front door while I was trying to get ready to leave for the airport. But the delivery was for me and it was so nice. It's the best way to receive flowers.....just because. Not as a sorry, or please forgive me, but for the simple reason that he wanted to make me smile. And wow, he succeeded at that. It was a wonderful weekend, it felt natural and right from the very beginning. There are some pics below of our weekend, but suffice it to say that it was the first time I actually wanted to cry while driving to the airport. I didn't want to let him go. It made me sad but I'm also so happy and know that we will see each other again, very soon if possible. He's asked me to come to South Carolina and I will.

I feel like I haven't slept all weekend and so I'm off to bed.
